Maura Tighe, originally from Dublin, owns and runs the gallery. A year after moving to the city from Edinburgh, she began working with Chris Heinzel, the venue’s founder. Already an avid Scottish art enthusiast, the gallery appealed to Maura who took over the business 12 months later.

In 2002 she moved it to its purpose-designed premise on Thistle Street, where she hosts up to eight exhibitions annually by artists from across the country.
