Dunbar’s Close Garden

Canongate, High Street, EH8 8BW

Located beside The Canongate Kirk, Dunbar’s Close offers up a wonderful garden laid out in the character of the 17th Century. It was donated to the City of Edinburgh by the Mushroom Trust in 1978, and was named after writer David Dunbar, who owned the tenements on either side of the close in 1773.

Locals love this place for its eye-catching, historic surrounds and the relaxing backdrop in which you can forget the pressures of daily life.
