One of the many benefits of living in London is that there is always something to do, whether that’s taking in the sites, going for a drink, something to eat or a casual trip by Buckingham Palace! This Saturday however, we think you should check out the celebration that is descending on Camberwell Green.
From 1279 right up until 1855, Camberwell Fair was held on Camberwell Green, until it was closed by local authorities because it caused “immoral and riotous behaviour”. Back in 2015 the good old folks at Southwark Council and Arts Council England, felt that it was about time to bring back this ancient festival, launching it into the 21st century.
This Saturday, you can look forward to the celebration of Camberwell’s culture, people, music and art. With not one but two large music stages, there are acts a plenty with the likes of The Mouse Outfit, Tantzm Balaphonics, Owl Parliament, Do Dat Den and The Midi Music Company amongst others to keep you up on your feet.
Keeping true to its original style of food, drink, market stalls and games the festival aims to truly represent all people within the local community, and is not like anything else seen in London!
The event is on from 12pm all the way until 9pm and even better it is free entry!
